Great information and well demonstrated. Thanks!
Hey man thanks so much for the awesome video what pound test do you recommend I use and what type of line
Turn off the clicker
Man that looks like a commercial fishing boat nothing else, sure it's a beautiful boat but it still looks like a fishing boat! I think there's room for another motor back there though🤪
Hi Brenden, I used to live on the street corner of your parents house in Pitt meadows back in 95 till 2000. I've noticed you've used both the 3025 destination model of kingfisher and the 3025 GTX model. I'm considering a kingfisher myself, and wondering which you prefer and why ? thanks for any input. its much appreciated.
Great video! Had my first solo salmon fishing this past weekend and will definitely take a few of this tips for the next outing. Organized chaos is a perfect description!
Looking for a calm water spot to take my daughter what would be your first three choices from all your years of experience?
Calm water you want to be inside somewhere protected. The inside of the island like Parksville would be great. Or you can do somewhere in the broken island group like Barkley Sound or Bamfield but just make sure they are fishing on the inside at the time you choose to go.
Looks amazing. Is there a video that explains how to use the Helm Master to dock with a single engine?
That's a great idea, we will try and make that once we get it installed on ours.
@@ReelWestCoast Looking forward to it. Most helpful will be having the joystick even with a single engine. Starting to look into Helm Master, I see that it can come with increasingly greater capabilities, with the top level having the joystick.
thats one beautiful boat. Are you trading up Brenden. ? whats the price range on this ?
Man, I don't get your style at all. I grew up trolling on BC lakes with my dad, who fished all his life across the country, and he trolled with his fly rod all the time while I preferred a conventional trolling rig. He would never reel a fish in on a flyrod because the entire point is to pull the line with your hand. The only purpose of the reel on a flyrod is to wind it all back up when your done using it.
Love your content. Was wondering what equipment you use for filming,. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for watching. Most of the show has been shot on the Sony FS5 as well as Gopros and a dji mavic drone.
@@ReelWestCoast Thanks. I also think your content has solidified me on Kingfisher for when I retire to Haida Gwaii
That place is a gem for sure!
I have a chart in my plotter. I named the chart, "Where BMO is his happiest"
Congratulations on your BAKEMONO (HOG in Japanese) rainbow trout! I wonder what kind of nutrients can make them become such a HOG.
Yup...great way to cut your hand
First time fly fishing tomorrow, thanks for the tips! Wish me luck! 🎣
Ayy. Where you going? We are going up to the Platte tomorrow.
@@TheeSett I fish the northern rivers in WA state.
Why do people still use a flasher? Kone Zone aka daisy chain flasher so much better. Clean fight with no flasher in main line. Way more fun and land more fish.
Supernatural !!!
Ok ok im #HOOKED hahahah dad joke. One time i would love to spend a weekend out with this #LEGEND on the ice and the #WATER #BRITISHCOLUMBIA how do you not have more #FOLLOWERS #INSPIRATIONAL
Usa does not clip 100 percent. Too much work. Always need volunteers!
Oh man you should bring those guys up here so they can experience BC’s fishery!
Best fishing content on youtube!
Awesome Brendan!
Question: What do you do with all the albacore meat when you get back home?
We got some of it turned into loins and the rest was canned or smoked canned. Amazing!
YES!!! The blooper reel is finally here. It's like Christmas for this guy.
Reel west coast best fishing show hands down. Always happy to see the new vids. 🤙🏽
I agree…this is the best fishing show in Canada for saltwater fishing. In the USA check out Day One Outdoors…they film a quality show too.
@@FishCitrus yeah Cody does a good show as well.
Brendan, I enjoyed watching you with the Canucks when we lived in the Vancouver area. You were a good asset to the team. Now; I've watched you on this venue, and I am purely impressed. Let's talk about this episode operating that 38 Eaglecraft with those " 600"s ! The most impressive thing I have seen. You are very lucky Brendan, and the most impressive act in your career as a TV personality. Great stuff. Thanks.
Too many fish
You’re a goof
Favourite place in the world, heading to little atlin lake area next week. Non stop fishing 🤗
Old school mooching with that live bait on the right spots should be gang busters
I never expected Chinook salmon so far south. The thumb nail is an enormous salmon
Awesome Video
What a bunch of bleeding heart crap. How much does this REQUIRED device cost? Who is getting rich off of that? Eat the fish and leave the soy alone. Geez.
awesome fishery cool you a catching Sierra and salmon together
Your hosts seem fantastic and those are definitely nice salmon, but wait a minute. I know Chile has salmon farms, but salmon aren't indigenous to Chile are they? Is it a good idea to populate the ocean with them? Are they salmon farm escapees? Are they spawning somewhere? Can a fishery be sustained and is it even a good idea when salmon will be competing for a food source with native species? You said that's a Chinook but aren't Chilean salmon farms filled with Atlantic salmon, so where did those Pacific Chinook come from? I have so many questions. 🤣
In reality, Gibbs spoons look that beat up after a single fish at best. Poor quality metal blank that bends like cooked spaghetti, poor quality paint that chips right off like Doritos, cheap swivels that don't swivel, and cheap hooks, like East Hastings.
I have to agree with you on the paint issue I shouldn't have to buy 10 of the same color spoon to make it through a season because of shitty paint. And I dont care which spoon im using I change out the hooks from the get go and change out every 2-3 trips. Thats here in washington state.
las pescados son muy grandes! Chile has a great range of fishery to offer. i normally see downriggers used in alaska but to see it being used else where is pretty sick.
Chile pura calidad ! Grandes cabros de a la pesca !
Great video Brendan .
Unreal. I hope you invite those boys out to Vancouver and do a couple more episodes out here. I’m sure they’d love it. 👍🏽
What an amazing trip!! New bucket list destination!
Have seen your boat yesterday on Granville in Vancouver with those brand new 250 Yamahas.Looks great.
I enjoy watching. You are a great fisherman. It reminds me of listening to you in between periods. Only now it's about being the most efficient fisherman. Love the channel
Great episode! How many hours of shooting/fishing did it take to put togethet this video? On average, how many hook ups per hour do you think?
I you didn’t tell us this was in Chile I’d swear this was in BC. Live your channel from the Outaouais region in Québec.
It seemed very similar to BC for sure and at times it would almost feel like we were in Clayoquot sound. But then a penguin would jump out of the water and remind us where we were! Thanks for watching.
@@ReelWestCoast lol a penguin would do it. My buddy has a charter in Pender on the Sunshine Coast BC. I’ve got to get back out there soon. Cheers
Just curious if they said they did extra well with you guys running your gear, or if they usually do well on their own?
The boys from "A La Pesca" are very passionate anglers and helped set this whole thing by reaching out to Gibbs Fishing years ago and starting to run their gear. They have been finding great success with it compared to the methods they were using before. We definitely helped them get more dialed in and shared some best practices. Also, it was their first time using teaser heads and bait which was very cool for them.
You guys had some great days down there. Looked fun
Best is Mo saying "Denada" in the most Canadian/hockey accent ever hahaha
Not a fan of the holier than thou attitude against the catch and keep Chilean fishermen. The pacific salmon foundation released a study in 2021 which revealed that catch and release chinook suffer a 30% mortality rate. When you guys do your videos where you catch and release 30 chinook to keep fishing instead of taking the first one or two per the BC regs, all the stress on the released fish result in the death of about 9 of them and have a much greater impact on populations than the catch and and go home guys.
Really not sure where the "holier than thou" part came. Maybe something was lost in the presentation. It was just a simple conversation regarding their philosophy and way of life. We also wanted to express to viewers why there were no releases. Also, this summer will be our 4th year participating in the study that you referenced and there are multiple videos on our channel showing us going out with the researchers in the study and testing different angling methods to figure out their relation to incidental mortality. We have a few episodes on this issue on our UA-cam and it's very informative and interesting, definitely check them out. Thanks for watching!
There's plenty of other studies saying that catch and release has very minimal effect on fish. I can make up a study right now and post it online saying whatever I want, it's pretty easy to turn into some sort of university or college real quick.
@@calebd4317 As one that has a degree in Fisheries Sciences from a major university, I find most of the stuff people put on the interwebz pretty entertaining, not to mention mostly incorrect. Everyone is a freakin' fisheries scientist on the web. Only a very few of us have an actual fisheries degree on our walls.
Settle down
